Method

How the photo checks work

  1. 01

    Upload one photo

A clear photo of the whole piece in daylight. Each tool page says what the photo should show, such as both sides of a coin or the back of a card.

  2. 02

    Read what it is

The check names it and says why, with the details that tell it apart from its look-alikes and reproductions.

  3. 03

See what it may be worth

Depending on the tool: what it may be worth, whether it is real, and whether to keep it, sell it, have it graded or ask an expert first.

Limits

What a photo check cannot promise

Identifications are made by AI from one photo and can be wrong. Values are estimates, not offers or appraisals, and we do not buy, sell or bid on anything we check.

FAQ

Questions about the photo checks

How accurate is it?

It depends on the photo and the piece. Each match shows how confident it is; low confidence means take another photo.

Is my photo stored?

Location data is removed from every photo before it is processed.

Is it free to try?

Trying the form on each tool page is free: no card, no account.

Do you buy what you check?

No. We do not buy, sell or bid on coins, cards, stamps or anything else we check. A value is an estimate, not an offer or an appraisal.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Every check runs online in your browser, on a phone or a computer.
